Introducing Paslode New Steel Frame Brad, the one-step steel frame fix with next level hold.

Here is Paslode’s new Steel Frame Brad  — Australia’s answer for confident no-fuss timber trim fixing into lightweight steel frames.

As steel frame builds become a more common fixture in the residential construction sector, more and more carpenters face the challenge of efficiently and effectively fixing timber trim to steel frame. Simple yet strong, the Steel Frame Brad meets that challenge. Steel frames are now as easy to work with as timber.

The Steel Frame Brad works with Paslode’s Straight TrimMaster™ tool to offer a strong reliable fix and cordless agility ideal for trim carpenters and specialist fit outs.

This is a 15-gauge hardened nail with even stronger holding power into steel frames than a 16-gauge nail in timber frames. Its smooth shank and a conical point penetrate the steel frame without splaying on entry. Once in place, the tight fit with 360-degree contact between the shank and the frame edge, together with a specially formulated strong holding resin on the nails, takes the holding power to the next level. There is no need for face gluing or screwing moulding or trim to establish a secure hold, no hassle, no mess, saving carpenters time and money.

Paul Carter Product Manager Paslode Australia says carpenters have been fixing mouldings on to steel frames using timber nails, glue and screws. “It is messy, expensive and time consuming. It slows down work — and is just a pain”.

With our Steel Frame Brad, carpenters can install timber moulding and trim in a steel framed house in the same way as they do in a timber framed house. Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam. Job done. Everything is tacked on in the same way. No messy glue. No fiddly screws. Just a fast, accurate finish every time.”

Shane Anthony Product Development Engineer says carpenters who have got hold of the new hardened brad like what they see.
